What happens to the details you give us when you ask about a project.

About us

This website belongs to SSR Builders Ltd, a building contractor based in Leicester, registered in England & Wales with company number 12504436. Our registered office is 60 Hinckley Road, Leicester, LE3 0RB. We are responsible for the personal information described on this page.

If you have a question about your information, or want to use any of your rights below, email info@ssrbuildersltd.co.uk or call 07710470708.

Information we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we receive:

  • your name and phone number
  • your email address, if you give it
  • the postcode of the property the work is for
  • the type of work you are interested in, and your message

We ask for the postcode so we know where the property is before we call you back, and can tell you straight away whether it is in the area we cover.

If you phone, email or message us on social media instead, we keep the details that come with it and anything you tell us about the project.

Our hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser type, to keep the website running and secure. We do not use these to identify visitors.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • get back to you about your enquiry
  • arrange a site visit and prepare a quote, if you want one
  • plan and carry out the work, and keep a record of what was agreed and built
  • deal with any warranty or aftercare question later on

When you ask us about work on your property, our lawful basis is taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, and then performing that contract. Otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us and running our business, in ways you would reasonably expect.

We do not send marketing, we never sell your information, and no decisions about you are made by automated means.

Who else sees it

A few service providers handle your information on our behalf and only on our instructions:

  • Twilio SendGrid delivers contact form enquiries to our inbox.
  • Vercel hosts this website.
  • Microsoft 365 runs our email, so enquiries are stored there once received.

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where information leaves the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If we take on your project, we may need to share relevant details with others involved in it, such as an architect, structural engineer, building control body or a specialist trade working with us. We only share what they need for the job.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies, run analytics or track you across other sites. Our fonts are served from this website rather than loaded from a third party. The Instagram and Facebook links are ordinary links and send nothing until you click them. If this changes we will update this policy first, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry does not lead to any work, we delete it within 12 months of our last contact with you.

If we do carry out work for you, we keep your details and the project records for six years after the work is finished. That covers our five-year workmanship warranty, and the period in which the records may be needed for legal, insurance, tax or accounting reasons.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information
  • limit how we use it
  • stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests
  • pass information you gave us to you or another organisation in a usable format

Some of these rights depend on the circumstances, and we may have to keep certain records for legal or tax reasons. To make a request, email info@ssrbuildersltd.co.uk. It is free, and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
